THE FLAVORS HOOK OREGON KIDS CAMPAIGN

Is a growing statewide movement of more than 50 organizations representing thousands of Oregonians that is working to protect our kids from tobacco addiction.

This industry has a long history of targeting children and other vulnerable groups with candy-like flavors and deceptive marketing — all to build their customer base and create lifelong customers.

These companies use flavored products like Cotton Candy, Watermelon Ice and Cool Mint to attract and hook new young users. Nearly 90 percent of youth e-cigarette users use flavored e-cigarettes, and more than 6,500 Oregon kids try cigarettes for the first time each year. 10.8 percent of our 11th graders use e-cigarettes. 5,500 Oregonians die each year from smoking-related illnesses.

Join our coalition to work with the lawmakers and community leaders to take on Big Tobacco and end the sale of these harmful products. Help us protect our kids and our communities by ending the sale of all flavored tobacco products in Oregon.

By closing the main pathway use to entice them — flavors — we can protect our children from a lifetime of addiction.

Right now, the Oregon Legislature is considering taking on Big Tobacco and ending the sale of these harmful products. Help us protect our kids and our communities by ending the sale of all flavored nicotine and tobacco products in Oregon.
